School Improvement

'Education is for improving the lives of others and
for leaving your community and world better than you found it.'

- Marian Wright Edelman

Our school priorities this year, are as follows:

1. To improve staff knowledge and skills in the teaching of early reading (Phonics) and reading so that by the time children leave primary school, they read with fluency (accurate reading of connected text at a conversational rate with appropriate prosody /expression and understanding).

2. To enhance the skills and  knowledge of teachers in order that pupils in EYFS and KS1 attain well in mathematics and make accelerated progress. To sustain excellent momentum through KS2.

 3. To ensure that all teachers and leaders are forensically informed and dispassionate in their self-evaluation and assessment resulting in heightened expectations, timely intervention and support.

4. To ensure that ALL pupils can fully access all areas of the curriculum and make accelerated progress.

5. To develop talent by equipping staff with the leadership skills, knowledge and understanding to carry out their role effectively and to achieve their aspirations.

6. Strategies to improve attendance are rooted in research evidence so that pupils establish good attendance patterns from an early age and consequently they have consistent relationships and experiences of being safe, achieving, included and healthy.
