Farnham Green Primary believes that physical education (PE) is an essential part of a child’s social, moral, emotional, spiritual and cultural experiences. We work hard to ensure that PE is tailored to all abilities through planning and implementing a comprehensive and diverse curriculum. We believe in inspiring and encouraging positive participation in physical education so that our children build high levels of self-esteem, team work and take ownership of positive attitudes towards PE, and their academic studies as well as gain strategies and skills to cope positively with challenges that occur in life.  Our highly motivated staff aspire to pass on their enthusiasm and passion for physical activity and healthy life styles onto every pupil through individual endeavor as well as collaborative activities.

We use our Sports Premium funding to continually enhance staff training so that the lessons that are planned throughout the school are of consistent high quality as well as all inclusive and appropriate in challenge for every child, Sports Premium is also used to ensure we have up to date resources, sports specialists and develop links with outside sports clubs and sports programs. We firmly believe that physical education is a vital part of every child’s well-being and so we take part in wider opportunities such as our annual sports day, Sports Relief and other national events to fulfill their sporting potential and aspirations.

We aim to:

  • Develop confidence, skills and knowledge in sports and well-being.
  • Promote equal opportunities
  • Pursuit for individual and collaborative excellence.
  • Instill pride in all achievements.
  • Promote fair play, honest endeavor and respect.
  • Educate children to improve health and wellbeing.
  • Provide quality opportunities in PE for children in and outside of school time.
