Governing Body Membership of Farnham Green Primary School
The Governing Body at Farnham Green Primary are looking for two committed people who would be interested in being co-opted onto the Governing Body. Please click here for more details.
Mr I Hussain
I originally started as a Parent Governor and have now been co-opted back in after my term expired. My eldest daughter has been to Farnham Green and my youngest is now here. I therefore have regular parental engagement with the school.
In addition, I am a local resident with a keen interest in the area and surrounding amenities. The school is an integral part of the local community and I am happy to be involved in helping the school. My background is in ICT and performance management; skills which I believe are useful to the governing body.
|Mr U Malik||Vice Chair and Parent Governor||
I was elected over a year ago as a Parent Governor and have a daughter that attends this school. As a parent of a child attending Farnham Green, I have a deep interest in providing all our children a safe, happy and supporting environment for learning and achieving outstanding results.
I have worked hard along with my other Governor colleagues to put in place a strong and inspiring senior management team who share our vision and are equally passionate for all our children to reach their potential and shine.
I am an IT professional with a keen interest in delivering successful outcomes. I and my colleagues are determined to see Farnham Green reach it's full potential and become an outstanding school that is at the heart of the community.
|Mrs M Sehmi||Staff Governor||
I have two sons, 25 and 23, who attended Farnham Green hence my long association of 18 years with this school as a Staff/Parent Governor. I became a Staff Governor over 7 years ago to further my understanding of school governance and more importantly to form a close and useful link between the Governing body and my colleagues.
My role as a Bilingual Support Assistant includes supporting children with English as an additional language, inducting new arrivals and supporting parents in various initiatives like English Conversation Classes. I feel these links with the diverse community of children, parents and staff brings specialist knowledge when engaging in discussion with the Governing Body about school matters.
|Cllr S Bellwood||Local Authority Governor||
I am a local resident and local Government Councillor with a long history in the health sector in individual, group and now community therapy. I have seen four children through to further/higher education.
I pride myself on making sure that the interests of Farnham Green Primary are at the forefront at all times.
|Mr N Dattani||Co-opted Governor||
I have been a Governor of Farnham Green Primary for many years and also served as a chair of the Resources Committee. As an accountant, I attend lectures ( on accounting, finance, taxation and employment) as part of my professional development.
I am also on the committee of the local branch of my accounting body, helping to organise short lectures for members. I have been a member of a voluntary service club (part of Lions International) and a committee member of a local Shopmobility.
|Mr A Mohammed||Parent Governor||
I am a Parent Governor. I have a son who attends Farnham Green Primary and a daughter who previously attended. I have previously been a Parent Governor and Vice-Chair of Governors in my old primary school in Tower Hamlets from 1997-2001.
I am keen to encourage all parents to support the school and also see the school being actively involved in the wider community. I volunteer for a number of community projects, including running two interfaith forums. I have a dual profession in teaching and law. I have been a secondary school RE and ESL teacher and most recently was a Headteacher of an independent primary school in Newham. Over the last 10 years I have been practising law, mainly in employment.
I bring my education and legal skills, as well as the community perspective, to the Governing Body.
